This Wallhanging can be seen in Ashford Museum. It was made in 1993/4 by the artist Lois Blackburn who was Artist in Residence at Ashford Adult Education Centre. This fabulous piece was a jointly funded project between SE Arts, Kent Adult Education and Ashford Borough Council. The object of the project was for Lois to document Ashford, share her skills with adults and schools in Ashford and produce a final piece of art for the Council Offices. The techniques used were rag rugging onto hessian using a punch gun. Lois collected material from charity shops as well as the bit bag at Associate House. The final piece portrays Ashford town and the surrounding countryside. Lois
