During World War One the citizens of Great Chart sent food and clothing items to members of the parish serving in the war together with information regarding the village and other serving forces.

In the museum on the reference shelf are copies of letters of thanks and personal information from the recipients. In one of the cabinets (right) are items from the war donated by the forces which were in a display in Great Chart but have been donated to the museum.
